Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Annapurna Base Camp Trek (4110m) in Annapurna region, we found the best one for us in terms of our age, interest and time. Views, people, accommodation and meals, we found fantastic. Our guide Ridhe and porter Res managed everything so smoothly and I never had to worry about it. Mr. Kul from Alliance Treks is highly professional person to book  Annapurna Base Camp Trek. This is our six time with his company Alliance Treks and as usual we never had problem at all. We did Pokhara-Chhomrong-Himalayan Hotel- MBC -ABC-Jhinu Danda – Pokhara-Kathmandu, this is just amazing trek. First day was bit harder for me but second day onward I was perfect. We found trek in May is good choice too.

Autumn and Spring are the best time for Annapurna Base Camp Trek and only we suggest with other trekkers is ABC trek seems busier every season and year so, book your trek only with professional trekking company like Alliance Treks and be safe because we saw many trekkers have no rooms booked in advance and trekking without guide and porters is your life in risk. Be safe, enjoy your trip and respect locals.

I do recommend everyone Alliance Treks to contact (www.alliancetreks.com) and have a safe trip.

See you Kul and team next year for your hometown trek Ruby Valley Trek.

ABC trekking

A private trip for 5 pax to trek ABC. We had made a few last minute requests and the agency and guide able to accommodate with it. The trip include a day stay at Nagarkot, reduced trek days from 10 days to 8days, 3D2N stay at Chitwan by flight from Pokhara to Chitwan then to Kathmandu for a night stay at a superb hotel. The guide, Rupak, and his 3 porters takes good care of us. He made sure that all of us trek at our own pace and not to develop AMS. We completed the trek successfully. The weather is unpredictable so we get a few days of bad weather which made the trek more challenging. The scenery is beautiful and breathtaking. I can proudly put a check on my bucket list. If I go Nepal again, I will engage Alliance Trek and expedition again. Thank you team for the great memories and support

Trekking in Nepal

This was the perfect trip, everything was so well thought out and prepared that we could just enjoy the being there. Everything was tailored to our needs . Having a local guide meant we were treated as a local rather than a tourist and have information on the way of life and landscape we saw. Comfortable accommodation and good food.

Amazing trek with Jaybir and Uncle Dal!

We used Alliance trek for a 12-night trip, including the 8 nights on the Annapurna base camp trek at the end of April 2025. Kishor put the itinerary together for us, and adapted it to include high-end hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara. The instructions and communications before going were great, and Kishor was very responsive. It was really clear what was included in the package and we didn’t find any unexpected hidden costs along that way. We were greeted at Kathmandu airport by our guide, Jaybir, who would stay with us for the whole trip. Kishor came and met us personally at our hotel and took us through everything we needed to know. On the trek itself, Jaybir was joined by Uncle Dal, and we started our magical journey.

Annapurna Base Camp is a fantastic trek, going through jungle, villages and valleys, before rising up into the mountains. There are villages and guest-house stations all along the route, but it still has an adventurous feel: you won’t see a car or road for 5 days. The exposure to the local people and economy is incredibly moving and humbling. Jaybir and Dal had extensive experience walking the trail and great relationships with the local guesthouse owners, which is incredibly important for making sure, you get quiet rooms, fed on time. They were incredibly kind, courteous and friendly, curious about where we came from and proud to share their experiences. We became like a family.

One of us had a big birthday on the morning at Annapurna Base Camp, and we were surprised with a massive cake, which they’d beavered through the night to make. It was an amazing experience.

We felt safe, cared for and in good hands all throughout our time in Nepal.

Detailed Overview – 7-Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The 7-Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek from Pokhara is an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, offering trekkers an immersive experience in Nepal’s natural beauty and cultural richness. Starting from Pokhara, the trek begins with a scenic drive to Kimchi, where the trail leads through lush forests, terraced fields, and charming villages. Your first night is spent in the traditional Gurung village of Chomrong, setting the tone for the cultural experiences ahead.

As you trek from Chomrong to Dovan, you pass dense bamboo and rhododendron forests, waterfalls, and suspension bridges, witnessing the pristine environment of the Modi Khola valley. The journey continues to Deurali, gradually ascending while revealing panoramic views of snow-capped peaks. The trail becomes steeper here, preparing you for the highlight of the trek: Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m).

On Day 4, you trek via Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC), where the towering Machapuchare (Fishtail) peak dominates the horizon. Continuing to ABC, you enter the Annapurna Sanctuary, surrounded by massive Himalayan peaks including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna I. This is the perfect place to witness sunrise and sunset, capturing the dramatic colors over the snowy peaks.

The descent begins on Day 5, retracing the trail from ABC through Dovan and Bamboo, allowing you to experience the landscapes from a new perspective. On Day 6, you trek to Jhinu Danda, famous for its natural hot springs, providing a rejuvenating soak after days of trekking. The final day leads you back to Kimchi, from where you drive to Pokhara, concluding your trek with memories of the spectacular Himalayas and the serene Annapurna region.

This 7-day trek combines moderate to challenging trekking, cultural immersion, and breathtaking Himalayan scenery, making it perfect for trekkers with limited time who want to experience the essence of the Annapurna region. Highlights include ABC views, Machapuchare Base Camp, hot springs at Jhinu, traditional Gurung villages, and the lush Modi Khola valley. Whether you are a nature lover, adventure seeker, or photographer, this trek offers a compact yet immersive Himalayan experience.

You Should Know Before Travel Expand All Collapse All

The ideal time for the ABC trek is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is clear, the trails are dry, and the views of Annapurna and Machapuchare are spectacular. Winter can be very cold, and monsoon season brings heavy rainfall and slippery trails.

A typical ABC trek takes 7–10 days depending on your pace, starting from Pokhara. The trek involves moderate to challenging trails, with daily walking times of 4–7 hours on average.

The trek is moderate in difficulty. A good level of fitness is recommended as you’ll walk 8–12 km daily with altitude gains up to 4,130 meters at ABC. Regular cardio, hiking practice, and leg-strength exercises before the trek can make the journey more enjoyable.

While it’s possible to trek independently, hiring a licensed guide is highly recommended for safety, local insights, and smoother logistics. A guide can also help with accommodation, meals, and navigating weather changes.

Essential items include:

  • Warm layers and a down jacket for high altitudes
  • Hiking boots and trekking poles
  • Rain gear and thermal innerwear
  • Hat, gloves, and sunglasses
  • Personal first-aid kit and water purification tablets
  • Snacks and energy bars
