The standard Gokyo Ri Trek itinerary is designed for 12 days. Since the Gokyo Ri Trek difficulty level is considered a moderately difficult to challenging high-altitude adventure, we strongly recommend that trekkers prepare themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally before undertaking this unforgettable Himalayan journey.
Alliance Treks recommends drinking only boiled or properly purified water during the Gokyo Ri Trek. Carrying water purification tablets is also highly recommended for added safety. Tipping your trekking crew is optional and depends on your satisfaction. As a general guideline, trekkers often tip around USD 10 per day for a guide and USD 5 per day for a porter. Tips are usually given at the end of the trek as a gesture of appreciation.
