You Should Know Before Travel Expand All Collapse All

Imagine a "spirited walk" rather than a grueling climb. This trek is considered moderate. You’ll be on your feet for 5-6 hours a day, navigating stone steps and forest paths. While reaching the Pangsang La Pass (3,850m) requires some steady breathing, you don’t need to be an elite athlete. If you can handle a long weekend hike, your body is ready for this life-changing challenge.

You have two "Golden Windows" for the best of Ruby Valley Trek. March to May offers a world of blooming rhododendrons—imagine walking through a sea of vibrant red flowers. However, for the sharpest, clearest views of the Ganesh Himal, October and November are unbeatable. These months provide the highest "emotional ROI," giving you those crisp, blue-sky mountain photos you’ve been dreaming of.

Don't let paperwork stop your adventure. While the valley itself doesn't require a specific "National Park" fee, crossing the Pangsang La Pass requires a Langtang National Park Permit and a TIMS card. As of 2026, the Nepal Tourism Board also requires all trekkers to have a licensed guide. Alliance Treks & Expedition handles all these legalities for you, so you can focus on the trail.

Think "Farm-to-Table" in its purest form. You’ll stay in authentic village homestays—simple, clean, and run by local families. There are no luxury hotels here, and that is the beauty of it. You’ll eat fresh Dal Bhat, organic mountain potatoes, and local bread. Every meal is a direct way to support the families who keep this "Hidden Treasure" alive. It’s delicious, nutritious, and incredibly rewarding.

It is very safe, provided you don't go alone. The trails in the Ruby Valley are "secret" for a reason—they aren't always well-marked. For beginners or solo travelers, having an expert guide from Alliance Treks & Expedition is your ultimate safety net. They act as your navigator and cultural translator. You won’t just be safe; you’ll feel like you’re traveling with a local friend who has your back.
