Important Notes for Tibet
As per the latest regulations from the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, a Tibet Group Visa requires a minimum of four travelers in the group. Individual applications are not accepted under the group visa rules.
The visa application must be submitted in person in Kathmandu, along with the traveler’s original passport. The processing typically takes 5 official working days (Monday to Friday).
Please note that Tibet visa requirements are subject to change at any time. To ensure a smooth process, travelers are advised to confirm current rules with the Chinese Embassy or Alliance Treks before booking their Tibet tour.
To allow sufficient time for processing, we recommend arriving at least one week prior to your Tibet tour in Kathmandu. This ensures your visa can be obtained without any delays and gives time for any additional documentation or updates required by the embassy.
To facilitate a smooth Tibet Visa application, please ensure you have the following documents ready:
Passport Copy – Submit a clear copy of your passport at least 20 days in advance to initiate the Tibet Travel Permit processing.
Original Passport – Bring your original passport with you when your group arrives in Kathmandu for visa submission.
Passport Size Photo – Provide a recent passport-size photo with a white background, full-face, no eyeglasses, and no smiling expression.
Visa Application Form – Complete the Tibet visa application form prior to arrival in Kathmandu.
These documents are essential for timely processing. Missing or incorrect documents may delay your Tibet tour visa approval, so please double-check all submissions.
