A portion of our proceeds helps fund community and conservation initiatives across Nepal.
Tourism should give back to the communities and landscapes that make it possible. At Alliance Treks and Expedition, we've spent over three decades building treks that help and benefit local people, protect mountain environments, and create meaningful journeys with better experience to travellers. Our initiative, Mission Ganesh Himal (MGH), directly supports education and health in remote villages of Nepal.
Transforming Lives in Ruby Valley, Dhading through Health, Education, Environment, and Tourism
For many years, Alliance Treks has believed that responsible tourism should create meaningful benefits for local communities. Guided by this belief, we proudly organize Mission Ganesh Himal, an annual community development initiative in the remote villages of Ruby Valley, Dhading.
Conducted in collaboration with dedicated French students, medical volunteers, educators, and local community members, Mission Ganesh Himal focuses on improving lives through our HEET Framework:

Every year, our team travels to Ruby Valley not only to explore the beauty of the Ganesh Himal region but also to contribute to the wellbeing and sustainable development of the communities that call these mountains home.
What began as a small initiative has grown into a long-term commitment, creating opportunities for learning, healthcare access, environmental sustainability, and tourism promotion.
Together, we are building stronger communities while fostering meaningful cultural exchange between Nepal and France.

Ruby Valley is our home—a sacred land of mountains, traditions, and resilient communities. Yet despite its beauty and significance, it remains one of Nepal's least popularized regions, often overlooked by development efforts and tourism alike.
When people visit Ruby Valley, they see breathtaking mountains, beautiful villages, and a way of life that feels untouched by time. What many do not see are the challenges that local families face every day.
For us, these are not stories we have heard. They are experiences we have lived.
Our founder,Mr. Kul Bahadur Gurung, was born and raised in Ruby Valley. Many of our guides, porters, and team members also come from these villages. We know what it is like to walk for hours to reach basic services. We know what it feels like when educational opportunities are limited and healthcare is far away. We have seen parents work tirelessly to provide for their families despite difficult circumstances. We have witnessed both the struggles and the incredible strength of our community.
No matter how far life takes us, Ruby Valley remains our home.
As Alliance Treks grew, so did our desire to give something back to the communities that shaped us. We did not want to simply bring visitors to these mountains. We wanted tourism to create a positive impact for the people who live here.
That is why Mission Ganesh Himal means so much to us.
Every year, when we return with French students, volunteers, and medical professionals, it feels less like a project and more like a reunion. We meet familiar faces, visit the same schools, sit with local families, and see children who have grown taller since our last visit. We share stories, learn from one another, and work together to make a small but meaningful difference.
A health check-up may seem simple, but for someone living in a remote village, it can be an opportunity they rarely receive. A few hours spent teaching in a classroom can inspire a child to dream bigger. A greenhouse can help a family grow fresh vegetables throughout the year. A cultural exchange can create friendships that cross continents.
These moments may be small on their own, but together they create lasting change.
Mission Ganesh Himal is not about charity. It is about responsibility. It is about remembering where we came from and standing beside the people who have always been part of our journey.
The people of Ruby Valley have given us our roots, our identity, and our connection to the mountains. Through this mission, we hope to honor that gift by helping create opportunities for future generations while preserving the culture, traditions, and spirit that make this region so special.
This is our home. These are our people. And this is our way of giving back.
MGH's strength comes from partnerships between Alliance Treks guides, international students (especially from France), and local Dhading communities. This cross-cultural exchange creates lasting relationships and demonstrates that responsible tourism builds bridges between people.
