Trek: Everest Base Camp Trek with Alliance Treks and Expedition, Nepal
Guide: Riddhi Ghale | Trip organizer: Kishor Nepal
Is the Everest Base Camp trek with Alliance Treks worth it? For April and her partner, yes. They described every step as top notch, from the first email to the airport pickup, and said their guide’s careful pacing, mountain knowledge and personal attention made a very rigorous trek possible. The review was headlined “Felt like we were trekking with friends.”
Every step of my experience with Alliance Trek was top notch and they took care of even the smallest details thoroughly.
My initial contact was with Kishor, who answered my thousands of questions with clarity and patience. He was our touch point throughout the entire experience from the moment I asked my first question until the day he sent a car to pick us up and take us to the airport to go home. I knew if we had any questions or issues all we had to do was give him a quick call and he would take care of it.
Our guide, Riddhi, was so careful and thorough that we really didn’t have any issues at all. Not only did he guide us safely through a very rigorous trek to Everest Base Camp, but he used his knowledge as an international mountain leader to educate us about all the trees and flowers and wildlife we encountered on the way, which really took the experience to the next level.
His pacing was completely customized to our abilities and I think was the only reason I made it 😂.
I would recommend this company to anyone who is doing a Trek in Nepal because I know that you’ll get a warm, welcoming, and personalized experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.

1. One contact person from start to finish. April’s first contact was Kishor, who answered what she calls her “thousands of questions” with clarity and patience. He stayed her touchpoint until a car was sent to take the couple to the airport. For a first-time Himalayan trek, a single reliable person to call is a real comfort.
2. A guide who made the trek safer. Riddhi guided the couple safely through what April calls a very rigorous trek. She says he was careful and thorough, and that they had no issues at all.
3. Learning along the way. As an international mountain leader, Riddhi taught them about the trees, flowers and wildlife on the trail. For many trekkers, that knowledge turns a long walk into a richer experience.
4. Pacing built around the trekkers. April says her pace was customized to her abilities, and jokes that it was the only reason she made it. On a high-altitude trek, pacing is one of the most important things a guide controls.
5. A warm, personalized welcome. Her summary says it all: a warm, welcoming and personalized experience she’ll remember for the rest of her life.

The trek needs no ropes, ice axes, or climbing experience, but it is demanding. The challenge comes from altitude, long days, and cold nights. You spend several days above 4,000 m, and oxygen at Base Camp is roughly half of sea-level levels. Training for several weeks beforehand, with long hikes and stair or hill work while carrying a pack, makes a big difference. As April’s review shows, a guide who adjusts the pace to your abilities helps just as much. If you are confused between the Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Base Camp, here is your answer EBC vs ABC
Essentials include a warm down jacket, a sleeping bag, thermal base layers, a waterproof shell, broken-in boots, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, a headlamp and a power bank. Trekking poles help on the long descents. If you want a more detailed packing list, you can visit our blog Everest Base Camp Trek Packing List
